steve ,
my name is spurge . my personal exoeriences started when i was about six . after my grandmothers funeral we returned home and got ready for bed . iwas lying in bed and a full body apparition of my grandmother appeared floating over my bed . it was translucent white but you could make out all the facial features etc. i guess it scared me pretty good because 50 years later it still gives me chills! my next experience didn't occur untill i was 14 . we moved into a house in norfolk where we would experience furniture moving around by itself , doors slamming , and loud footsteps and knocking every night . both my parents worked so us 3 kids were left alone every night untill about 4-5 am. the noises would start right at midnight and the furniture move shortly after . you would hear growling noises from the ceiling and wall areas . one night i saw an extremely large black shadow outside our second story bedroom window while i was laying in bed . i heard sounds like the window screen was tearing then my bed started inching across the floor toward the window . i guess i got so scared i passed out . the next day i went down stairs to tell my mother what happened . she looked strangely at me and said my brother had experienced the same thing later that night !my brother and i hadn't talked that night but our stories matched perfectly . we found out ,doing a little research that every husband who had lived in that home had died of natural causes or commited suicied .
ihave other experiences but will close for now . if you are interested let me know they continue to present and dont show any signs of letting up . i would be very interested in any other experiences you have or have had so please let me know !!!
thanks spurge smiley

2   Paranormal Discussion / Re: Alternate Theory Pertaining to EVPs..  on: Nov 18th, 2009, 8:21pm

Lisa ,
i just came across this posting today and would like to voice my own opinion on evp. i know i haven't been
doing evp recordings but about 3 years . never the less i seem to be able to capture 5 or more various quality evp's at every investigation i've been on in those three years . sometimes i think i might be interpreting my audio wrongly but i have located a
couple of people who can hear the same audio results
i get . i make sure to not reveal my interpretations to them before their analysis and they get the same results as i consistantly . i feel alot better about evp's
now and am more confident in my findings . i still highly value every opinion i get !! i dont feel evp,s originate
totally from the subconcious . most of my evp's seem
to contain info i couldn,t know , names ,places ,etc.
the subconcious may play some part in the overall
communication but i feel there is definately an intelligence existing beyond our death. my one question
is , "why would someone fear communication from
anyone they loved in life after the person dies ? ". you still love the person , as they do you ! god i love this
field !!! thanks for listening to me ramble on an on .

 3   General Board / Ghost Tours..  on: Oct 6th, 2009, 2:09pm

The Ghosts of Staunton ghost tours are in full swing and in the "final stretch" of the season with only 4 more weekends remaining in the 2009 season. Do not miss out! I encourage everybody to partake of a tour (or better yet, both tours!), as we have 2 tour routes this year, both of which include new stories! Tours are every Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and every Sunday at 8:00 p.m., with the "Wharf Tour" starting at the Byers Street entrance of the Jolly Roger Haggle Shop and the "Newtown Tour" starting at the corner of Market and East Beverly Streets in front of Coffee on the Corner.

Over the summer, Matt, Shea, Ann, and Marty have had plenty of practice, and it shows! The tours are AWESOME, and I would hate to see anybody miss out!

If you can or cannot make it, do me a favor (pretty please grin) and pass the word to all your friends and family, as this will be the last chance to experience this very unique experience until the spring of 2010.

Hope to see all of you on a tour!!!!! grin

Thanks in advance for your support!

Lisa
